ABOUT Badam Halwa RECIPE

This is a yummy and easy desert which can be made for all occasions, this has the healthiness of almonds which is very important for brain development.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Badam [almonds] :1 cup
  2. Sugar: 1 cup
  3. Milk :2-3 cups
  4. Cardamom powder: 1/2 spoon
  5. Ghee: 1/2 cup
  6. Cashews, kismis : as required
  7. Saffron :as required

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak Badam for 2-3 hours
  2. Peel it and first blend it to a fine powder without adding milk or water.
  3. Add milk and blend it to smooth paste
  4. In a flat vessel add a cup of milk , saffron and blended Badam paste.
  5. Stir continuously to avoid forming lumps.
  6. Cook on a medium flame to avoid sticking at the bottom.
  7. Add sugar and keep stirring. For more sweetness add more sugar.
  8. Add ghee at regular intervals.
  9. When Halwa starts thickening add more ghee and cardamom powder.
  10. Saute well and transfer to bowl.
  11. Garnish with cashews and kismis.
