Suitable dessert for all festive occasions, this is made with flattened rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Aval/Poha [flattened rice] - 1 glass
  2. Sugar:1 glass
  3. Kesar colour:1 pinch
  4. Cardamom powder:2 spoons
  5. Ghee :3-4 spoons
  6. Water:1 glass
  7. Cashews & dry grapes : 1

Instructions

  1. Dry roast Aval/ poha and blend it to a fine powder.
  2. In a same pan add ghee and roast powdered poha/Aval.
  3. Then in a ghee fry dry grapes and cashews.
  4. Heat water in a flat vessel and allow it to boil for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add a pinch of Kesari colour.
  6. In a boiling water add powdered poha little by little and keep stirring.
  7. Stir continuously on low flame till becomes soft .
  8. Add sugar and mix well.
  9. Add ghee and Saute well till get sticky texture.
  10. Once it is done transfer to a bowl and garnish with cashews and kismis.
  11. This is similar like Rava/Sooji Kesari and can cook for all festivals.
