ABOUT Non veg Momo's RECIPE

Basic recipe is same as Veg Momo's only the filling changes.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup plain flour
  2. Generous pinch of salt
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 500gms mince chicken
  5. 1/4 cup chopped Spring onions
  6. 12-15 pods of garlic peeled
  7. Salt and black pepper as required
  8. 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  9. 1 tsp vinegar
  10. 1 finely chopped fresh red chilli
  11. 8 dried red chillies (add less or more acc to preference)
  12. 2 tomatoes blanched and skin removed

Instructions

  1. Finely chop 6 pods of garlic add soya sauce, spring onions, 1/2 tsp vinegar, salt and pepper and green chillies. To this mixture add mince and season. Mix well and keep aside
  2. for the dough- Combine flour with salt and 1/2 tsp oil and knead well, it should be a stiff dough.Cover with cling film and keep aside.
  3. Pinch off small balls of dough and roll out in a thin circle, place a tbsp of chicken filling in the center. Moisten edges with a little water and bring together, pinch to seal in a half moon shape. Prepare all the momos in a similiar way and keep covered.
  4. Heat water in a steamer/ pressure cooker, place momos a little apart and steam for 20 minutes.
  5. While momos are steaming, make the dipping sauce by combining the red chillies, leftover garlic and tomatoes in a blender. Blend to a coarse puree. Heat remaining oil and pour this puree into it, season with salt and 1/2 tsp vinegar. Cook till thick. Remove and cool.
  6. Enjoy piping hot steamed momo's with the chilli garlic dip in one bowl and mayonnaise in another!
