Ingredients to make Kathal fry

  • Kathal 500gm
  • oil for shallow frying plus 3 tablespoon for making sabzi
  • salt to taste
  • Red chillie powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • onions 3 big sized sliced
  • tomatoes 4 big sized chopped roughly
  • green chillies 2-3 chopped
  • coriander leaves few for garnishing/decorating

How to make Kathal fry

  1. INGREDIENTS USED
  2. TAKE A WOK/KADAI, ADD OIL
  3. HEAT WELL, ADD KATHAL PIECES AND FRY IT
  4. MIX WELL, KEEP FOR FEW MINUTES ON SIM FLAME
  5. THIS WAY WHEN IT IS NICE GOLDEN BROWN, TAKE OUT IN A PLATE AND KEEP ASIDE
  6. NOW ADD ONION IN THE SAME OIL FRY TILL IT IS BROWNISH PINK
  7. THIS WAY IT WILL TURN BROWNISH PINK
  8. ADD TOMATOES AND GREEN CHILLIES, MIX WELL,COOK TILL MASALA GETS SOFT, BUT DO NOT OVERCOOK
  9. ADD FRIED KATHAL PIECES TO IT, MIX WELL
  10. ADD DRY SPICES RED CHILLIE POWDER, GARAM MASALA POWDER AND SALT
  11. MIX WELL
  12. COVER IT WITH THAAL AND COOK FOR 15MIN ON SIM FLAME
  13. OPEN THAAL AFTER FEW INTERVALS AND CHECK IT, IT'S BROWNED FROM ALL OVER, IT'S READY
  14. TAKE OUT IN A DISH, PUT SOME CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES
  15. SERVE HOT
