ABOUT Shortcrust Pastry Dough (Sweet) RECIPE

Easy and quick Short Crust Pastry can be used for making pies, pockets. In this recipe I have whisked whole egg and used as required. Made apple pies using crust and it turned out really very well, crispy, flaky and tasty. It can be stored in airtight container and stored in freezer.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Maida or Flour - 1 cup
  2. Chilled butter - 1/2 cup
  3. Castor Sugar - 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Salt 1/4 tsp
  5. Egg - 1

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, chilled butter, sugar and salt together in food processor until it forms a coarse mixture or mix using fingertips until it forms breadcrumb like texture.
  2. Take out on work surface, add egg and gently knead it into a dough.
  3. Make a disk, tightly cover with cling wrap.
  4. Store into airtight container and transfer into freezer up to two weeks.
