ABOUT Fried Chicken: the pursuit of happyness RECIPE

An empty wallet and almost half a day of an empty stomach lead me to my perfectly unpremeditated plate of fried chicken. Impromptu cooking at its best!

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 500 gms chicken
  2. 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  3. 3 tsp red chilli powder
  4. 1 tsp cumin powder
  5. 1 tsp black pepper powder
  6. ½ cup milk
  7. 1 tbsp corn flour
  8. 1 beaten egg
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with the ginger-garlic paste, red chilli, cumin and black pepper powder, and milk for 10 minutes.
  2. Then add the corn flour, egg and salt and mix well.
  3. Heat the oil in a kadai and deep fry the chicken pieces on medium-high flame.
  4. Make sufficient room for every piece and do not overcrowd the kadai all at once.
  5. Let them turn to a golden brown crisp, drain them on absorbent kitchen paper and the leave the woes of the world behind!
