A velvety smooth halwa that is loved by most of us. It is not only loved for it's lovely taste but also because it's healthy. Microwaving it is a much easier job and a great time saver too. Ingredients Serving: 6

Beetroot shredded 3 cups
Milk 1 cup
Milk powder 3 tbsp
Ghee 3 tbsp
Cashews broken 10
Almonds chopped 10
walnuts chopped 3
Sugar 1/2 cup
Cardamom pods crushed 3

Instructions

First of all, heat a tablespoon of ghee on power high for 1 minute.
Add all the chopped nuts and microwave again for a minute.
If needed, microwave again until light brown for 30 seconds.
Set these aside.
In the same bowl, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of ghee and add shredded beetroot.
Microwave on high power for about 2 minutes first.
Remove and mix well.
Microwave again for 2 minutes.
In this way, repeat this for 6 times until the raw smell disappears.
Each time, after every 2 minutes, give it a stir and microwave.
Add both milk powder dissolved in milk and sugar after 3 rounds of microwaving.
After 6 times of microwaving for 2 minutes, remove and garnish with toasted nuts.
Serve hot with some crumbled khoya or mawa.
