Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Jackfruit 20 pieces
  2. Jaggery 500gm
  3. Coconut milk 3extracts
  4. Ginger powder 1/2tablespoon
  5. Cardamom powder 1/2 tablespoon
  6. Coconut pieces fried 2tbsp
  7. Ghee 3 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take a pan and pour 2 tablespoon ghee
  2. Cut the jackfruit into small pieces and fry the pieces in ghee.
  3. Pour 1 cup water and boil the fried jackfruit pieces for 20minutes. Let it cool for sometime.
  4. Now grind the jackfruit pieces and make it into a fine paste.
  5. Take a pan and add 1 cup water and mix jaggery to it. Break the lumps and heat it up for sometime till the jaggery dissolves and lastly strain the impurities from the jaggery using the strainer
  6. Add the jackfruit paste to the jaggery and mix it.
  7. Take three extracts of coconut milk
  8. Take the third extract of coconut milk and add it to the pan and let it boil for sometime. Once it thickens slightly add the second extract of coconut milk. Again stir it and lastly add the first extract of the coconut milk to pan and switch off the stove.
  9. Add dry ginger powder and cardamom powder. Fry the coconut pieces in ghee
  10. Garnish the payasam using fried coconut pieces
  11. It can be served hot and it can also be served cool
