ABOUT Edible Christmas Ornament cookies - Orange flavor RECIPE
These are edible Christmas tree cookies that you can make with your kids. I have flavoured them with orange essence. You can add any flavour of your choice.
In a bowl sieve both flours, baking powder and salt.
Mix in the chopped cranberry in dry ingredients.
Whisk the butter and icing sugar in a separate bowl.
Add milk and essence. Mix well.
Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and combine it together to form a dough.
Roll between baking papers till 1/4 inch thick.
Using Christmas cookie cutters cut shapes. Using a nozzle or straw punch holes on its shape so that you can later tie them to the tree. Very carefully place them on a baking tray.
Chill this tray in the fridge for 15 to 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven at 170 degrees for 10 minutes.
Bake the chilled cookies until slightly golden brown in colour.
Let cool on a cooling rack.
To make the royal icing mix icing sugar, corn flour, lemon juice and milk till you get a smooth consistency.
Put them in separate bowls and colour them as desired using food colours.
Decorate your cookies as per your choice. Thread a satin ribbon into the pierced hole of the cookie so that it can easily be hung on a Christmas Tree.
