Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. ½ cup peas, fresh / frozen
  2. 1 small potato, cubed
  3. 5 beans, chopped
  4. 1 carrot, chopped
  5. 2 cups water
  6. ½ tsp turmeric
  7. salt to taste
  8. ½ cup tamarind extract
  9. 1 tsp jaggery
  10. ½ cup toor dal, cooked
  11. 3-4 tsp bisi bele bath masala powder
  12. 1 cup rice
  13. 1 tbsp ghee
  14. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  15. pinch asafoetida
  16. few curry leaves
  17. 10 cashews

Instructions

  1. firstly, in a large kadai take mixed vegetables add cook with 2 cups.
  2. furthermore, add turmeric and salt.
  3. cover and boil for 10 minutes or till the vegetables are ¾ done.
  4. once the vegetables are cooked, squeeze the juice from tamarind.
  5. also add jaggery.
  6. further add cooked toor dal and rice
  7. mix well and boil for 15 minutes.
  8. further add 3-4 tsp of bisi bele bath masala powder.
  9. also add salt and mix well.mix well and add a tbsp of more ghee.
  10. simmer for 10 minutes
  11. meanwhile, prepare the tempering by heating ghee.
  12. further add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves. allow to splutter.
  13. additionally and cashews and fry golden brown.
  14. pour the tempering onto the prepared aval bisi bele bath. finally, serve bisi bele bath with raita and mixture.
