TRADITIONAL SOUTH INDIAN RECIPE (my mother in laws recipe)

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. SOAKED URAD DAL -1 CUP
  2. BLACK PEPPER-1 TSP
  3. CUMIN-1 TSP
  4. GREEN CHILLIES-3-4
  5. SALT -TO TASTE
  6. CURRY LEAVES-4-5
  7. WATER-AS REQUIRED
  8. OIL-FOR DEEP FRYING
  9. CHOPPED ONIONS-2
  10. GINGER-A SMALL PIECE

Instructions

  1. Drain soaked urad dal.
  2. in a mixie jar grind green chillies,ginger,pepper,cumin.
  3. gradually add drained urad dal/black split gram.
  4. Add salt to taste.
  5. Grind all together to a fine paste.
  6. Add only 1/4 cup water or only when needed.
  7. Take a plastic sheet apply water on it.
  8. apply water on your palms
  9. take a portion of batter and make vadas.
  10. Deep fry in hot oil
  11. keep the heat medium hot.Soon you will get crispy brown vadas.
  12. serve hot with chutney ,sambhar or simply sauce
