Maravalli Kizhangu Adai

Ingredients to make Maravalli Kizhangu Adai

  • Peeled & chopped tapioca : 2 cups
  • Idli rice : 1 cup
  • Toor dal : 1/4 cup
  • urad dal skinned : 1/4 cup
  • Green moong dal : 1/4 cup
  • Red chilli : 4nos
  • Green chilli : 2 nos
  • Black pepper : 1/4 tsp
  • curry leaves
  • salt as required
  • asafoetida : a pinch
  • oil

How to make Maravalli Kizhangu Adai

  1. Wash & soak rice and dal together for 2 hours.
  2. Grind soaked rice - dal mixture, red chillies , green chillies , pepper and salt coarsely.
  3. Now add finely chopped tapioca and grind for few more minutes.
  4. The batter should be thick .
  5. Add curry leaves , asafoetida and mix well.
  6. Heat dosa tawa, pour 1 ladle of batter and spread as round.
  7. Put oil on sides and cook both sides till crispy.
  8. Serve hot with Avial / coconut chutney
