Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Peeled & chopped tapioca : 2 cups
  2. Idli rice : 1 cup
  3. Toor dal : 1/4 cup
  4. Urad dal skinned : 1/4 cup
  5. Green Moong dal : 1/4 cup
  6. Red chilli : 4nos
  7. Green chilli : 2 nos
  8. Black pepper : 1/4 tsp
  9. Curry leaves
  10. Salt as required
  11. Asafoetida : a pinch
  12. Oil

Instructions

  1. Wash & soak rice and dal together for 2 hours.
  2. Grind soaked rice - dal mixture, red chillies , green chillies , pepper and salt coarsely.
  3. Now add finely chopped tapioca and grind for few more minutes.
  4. The batter should be thick .
  5. Add curry leaves , asafoetida and mix well.
  6. Heat dosa tawa, pour 1 ladle of batter and spread as round.
  7. Put oil on sides and cook both sides till crispy.
  8. Serve hot with Avial / coconut chutney
