ABOUT Paneer Butter Masala RECIPE

For all the paneer lovers here is my recipe of your most wanted sabzi when you want to have some North Indian special. Paneer which is also known as cottage cheese is used in many dishes either in pieces or in mashed form.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 big tomatoes
  2. 8-10 cashewnuts
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  5. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  6. 250 gms paneer diced
  7. 1 small cinnamon stick
  8. 2 dry red chilli
  9. 1/2 cup amul fresh cream
  10. 3 cloves garlic
  11. 1/2 inch ginger
  12. 2 green chilli
  13. 5 medium sized onions
  14. 1 tsp garam masala
  15. butter as required
  16. salt to taste


  1. Put the tomatoes, onions, cashewnuts, green chillies, garlic and ginger in a mixi jar. Make a fine puree.
  2. Heat butter in a pan, add the cinnamon stick and red chillies to it. Add the puree and cook for a while.
  3. After a few minutes add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and some water if you do not want a very thick gravy.
  4. Add the paneer cubes, salt and fresh cream and mix well till the paneer gets coated well with the gravy.
  5. Paneer butter masala is ready to served.
