Grind grated coconut, onions, boiled tomatoes, coriander seeds, red chili powder and garlic cloves together and make a fine paste. Keep aside.
Take some oil in a pan, heat well. Add turmeric powder, stir for 2 seconds.
Add paste immediately to it, stir fry for 10 mins. Add 1 cup of water as per need. Bring to boil.
Add kokum and salt as per need once boiling point of the gravy is reached. Reduce flame.
Add the fish pieces and reduce flame to low, let it cook on low flame for 15 minutes.
Turn off the gas and let it stay for another 5 minutes. The fish slices will absorb all the flavors of the curry.
