Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 2 cups Rice flour
  2. 1/2 cup Warm Milk
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 2 tbsp shredded coconut
  5. 1/2 cup shredded jaggery
  6. Dry rose petals to garnish


  1. Take the rice flour in a mixing bowl, add in salt and mix them well together. Slowly pour in the milk and mix it well again.
  2. This mixture will neither be like a dough nor a batter, it will just be wet. Once you take some mixture in your palm, press them to form a ball first and break it down. Keep this mixture aside for 15 mins.
  3. Take a special bhapa pitha pan or a simple momo steamer or anything you can steam with. Add water in the steamer and boil it.
  4. Take a small bowl, and add half of the mixture into the bowl. Then add some coconut and jaggery along with the rest of the mixture.
  5. Now take a wet cotton cloth and close the small bowl, then place it upside down in the steamer. Now remove the bowl slowly and cover the bowl with that cloth. Do not remove the cloth.
  6. Cover this pan with a lid and steam it for 5 mins.
  7. Now your dhakai bhapa pitha is ready to be served with a garnish of rose petals.
