3/4 cup Tomato or 1 Big
2 tbsp Coconut
2 tsp Sambar powder
1/4 tsp Asafoetida / Hing
For tempering-
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp urad dal
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds powder
Few curry leaves
5 small Onions
For the Sambar
3/4 cup Arhar Dal
1 cup Brinjal
Coriander leaves handful
Salt to taste
2 tbsp tamarind paste
1 Drumstick chopped into 2 inch pieces
5 small onions
1 Tomato medium
Instructions
IN GRINDER JAR ADD
2 TSP ROASTED GRAM
2 TSP SAMBHAR MASALA
2 TBSP COCONUT
ADD 1 TOMATO
GRIND IT INTO A PASTE
ADD 1 CUP WATER
1 CARROT
1 TOMATO (CHOPPED)
1 DRUMSTICK
1 SMALL BRINJAL ( CHOPPED) COVER IT AND COOK FOR 5-6 MINUTES
ADD GROUND PASTE
ADD 1 CUP OF BOILED ARHAR DAL
& 2 TBSP TAMARIND PULP
SALT TO TASTE AND WATER AS REQUIRED. LET IT BOIL FOR 8-10 MINUTES.
FOR TEMPERING-
HEAT 2 TSP OIL
ADD PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA
1/2 TSP URAD DAL
1/2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS
