ABOUT Instant amla achar RECIPE

Achar is always preferred with rice and dal, this is an easy and instant way to make pickle at home with Amlas. Amlas are rich in vitamin C and the acharr is yummy to taste.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. 10 to 15 amlas
  2. 3/4 cup mustard oil
  3. 4 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
  4. 1 tsp kalongi
  5. 3 tsp methi kuria ( granulated methi seeds)
  6. 3 tsp chilli pd
  7. 1/2 tsp haldi pd
  8. 1/2 tsp hing
  9. 3 tsp salt
  10. 3 tsp jaggery pd

Instructions

  1. Boil the amlas for 8 to 10 mins
  2. Drain and cool completely
  3. Cut into slices and discard the seeds
  4. Heat oil in a non stick pan on medium flame fr 2 mins. Switch off the flame
  5. Allow to cool a bit
  6. Crush saunf [fennel seeds] and kalongi [nigella seeds] coarsely .
  7. Combine the mixture with chilli pd, methi kuria, haldi, hing,salt and jaggery pd
  8. Add this mixture to the oil mix well
  9. Add sliced amlas to this mixture
  10. Keep for 2 to 3 hrs
  11. Store in airtight container & refrigerate it
