Masala puffed rice is very easy and quick breakfast especially when we have sudden guests/ if we forget to prepare idli and dosa batter.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Puffed rice-1 pack
  2. Onion-1
  3. Tomatoes-3
  4. Ginger- finely chopped
  5. Salt- as per our taste
  6. Kaarapodi- 1 tbsp
  7. Coconut powder- 1 spoon
  8. Green chillies-3
  9. Lemons-2
  10. Oil- 1spoon
  11. Ghee-1 spoon


  1. Add 1 pack of puffed rice to 1/2 bucket of water.
  2. Wait for 10 min and squeeze the puffed rice from water and keep in a plate.
  3. In a wok add oil and ghee and add the seasonings , onion, curry leaf, ginger and stir for 5 min.
  4. Now add tomatoes and stir for 5 min.
  5. Now add salt, kaaropodi, coconut powder and cook for 5 min.
  6. Now add squeezed puffed rice and toss for 5 min.
  7. Switch off the flame and add lemon juice and coriander leaves.
