Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. ragi vermicelli - 100 gm
  2. Grated carrot - 1
  3. Chopped onion - 1
  4. splitted green chillies - 3
  5. chopped ginger - 1tsp
  6. Oil - 1 tbsp
  7. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  8. urad dal - 1tsp
  9. Grated Coconut - 2tbsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. fresh curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves - for garnishing


  1. Soak ragi vermicelli in one litre hot water for two minutes,add salt to taste. drain it. Place the drained ragi vermicelli and grated coconut in idli platter and steam cook for 3 -5 minutes.
  2. Heat oil, add mustard when it pops add urad dal, curry leaves, chillies, chopped ginger, onion and little salt to taste.
  3. Saute for a minute, add ragi vermicelli and grated carrot.
  4. Mix well, garnish with grated coconut and chopped coriander leaves.
  5. Serve immediately with coconut chutney.
