Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Raw rice- 2 cups
  2. Urid dal- 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek seeds- 1 spoon
  4. Cooked rice- 1 tbsp
  5. Salt- as per taste
  6. Cumin- 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric- a pinch
  8. Chilli powder- little
  9. Onion- 1
  10. Coriander leaves- little
  11. Curry leaves- little

Instructions

  1. Soak urid dal, fenugreek seeds and rice for 6 hours.
  2. Drain them and blend into a smooth batter along with cooked rice and water.
  3. Allow it to ferment for 6 hours.( overnight)
  4. Next day morning, in the batter add onions, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well.
  5. Heat a tawa add little oil and pour 2 laddles of batter. Dont spread with spatula. It should be thick. Close it with a lid and allow to get cooked.
  6. Flip to other side when it gets golden brown colour.
  7. Cook on other side and serve hot for breakfast with coconut chutney/ tomato chutney/ ginger chutney.
