Ingredients to make Poori

  • wheat flour-2 cups
  • water- 1 cup
  • sooji- 1 tbsp
  • oil- to deep fry
  • salt- as per our taste

How to make Poori

  1. In a bowl, add wheat flour, salt, sooji and water and knead into a thick dough. Apply oil to dough and cover it with damp cloth till we are ready to prepare breakfast.
  2. In a deep kadai, add oil sufficient to deep fry and wait till it becomes very hot.
  3. Now take a small portion of dough and place it in poori press and press heavily. Open it and drop it into hot oil.
  4. We can see puffed poori in oil. Flip to other side too. Drain from oil when it looks golden brown in colour.
  5. Serve hot with aloo curry.

My Tip:

Oil should be hot or else poori will be oily. To increase the puffiness of poori, we can increase the sooji quantity.
