ABOUT BANANA MALPUA RECIPE

Malpuas / Malpuras are sweet deep fried fritters served with Sindhi kadhi chawal or served as a breakfast dish with papads. I have made these giving a little twist by adding mashed banana to the batter.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Wheat flour .... 1/2 cup
  2. Banana ... 1
  3. Sugar ........... 1 and 1/2 tbsp.(adjust according to your liking)
  4. Cardamom powder ..... 1/8 tsp.
  5. Milk/water..................... to mix
  6. Baking powder ........... a pinch
  7. Pistachios (crushed)......... to garnish
  8. Oil ................... to fry

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the banana into very small pieces.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cardamom powder and baking powder amd make a thick batter adding milk or water.(Take the ratio of 3 spoons flour and 2 spoons banana)
  3. Fry the malpuas in a shallow bottomed pan.
  4. Sprinkle pistachio powder on hot malpuas.
