ABOUT Whole Masoor Dal Cheela RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup whole masoor dal (red lentils), soaked overnight
  2. 1 cup spring onions, chopped
  3. 1" ginger
  4. 2 green chilies
  5. salt to taste
  6. 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
  7. 1/2 tsp. cumin powder
  8. 1 tsp. coriander powder
  9. 1/4 tsp. asafoetida
  10. 1/2 tsp. carom seeds
  11. 1 tbsp. lime juice
  12. oilo to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Grind the dal along with ginger, green chilies and some water till smooth.
  2. Add all the rest of the ingredients (except oil) and mix well. Keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat a non-stick tawa & pour a ladleful of the batter and spread into a circle. Cook on one side for 2 minutes or till done before flipping it over to be cooked the other side.
  4. Relish with any with any side dish, chutney or pickles.
