ABOUT Onion pakoda RECIPE

This is again a traditional breakfast in my home town. crispy onion pakodas served with some chutney.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 onion
  2. 1 cup besan
  3. 2 spoon red chilly powder
  4. 1 tsp chopped coriander
  5. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 tsp ajwain powder
  7. 1pinch of asfoetida
  8. salt to taste
  9. water as required


  1. Slice the onion.
  2. And mix all the above ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Add water and make thick batter for pakoras.
  4. In hot oil ,add spoonfulls of the batter.
  5. When the pakoras are a bit cooked ,turn over with a slotted spoon and continue to fry.
  6. Fry the onion pakoras ,till they look golden brown.

It can be served with green chutney.
