This is a delicious breakfast recipe made with dal and spinach. served with some curd and pickle.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boiled yellow moong dal - 1 cup
  2. Wheat flour - one and half cup
  3. Boiled spinach - 1/2 cup
  4. Cumin seeds - a pinch
  5. Asafoetida / hing - a pinch
  6. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Clarified butter / ghee - 2 tbsp
  11. Oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add asafoetida / hing and cumin seeds to crackle.
  3. Add boiled yellow moong dal /lentil and saute for 2 - 3 mins.
  4. Add red chilly powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and salt and mix well.
  5. Now stuffing is ready.
  6. Take a bowl add wheat flour,boiled spinach and salt and mix well.
  7. Knead to make a soft dough with the help of water.
  8. Keep aside for 30 mins.
  9. Make an equal size balls.
  10. Stuff the filling in the dough and roll into balls.
  11. Flatten the ball into thick round paratha.
  12. Grease a pan with clarified butter / ghee and heat on a medium flame.
  13. Spinach / palak dal paratha is ready to eat.
  14. Serve hot with pickles.
