Momos are steamed formed of dumplings which is stuffed with vegetables. basically, momos are the staple food of nepal, bhutan, tibet, north eastern part of india. but now widely accepted all over india

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1/2 Tsp salt
  3. 1 tbsp oil
  4. 1/4 cup milk
  5. water as required to knead dough
  6. for momos veg stuffing:
  7. 1 cup cabbage, grated
  8. 1 carrot, grated
  9. 1 capsicum chopped
  10. salt to taste
  11. 3/4 tsp green chilli paste
  12. 1/4 tsp soy sauce
  13. 1 tsp vinegar
  14. 2 tbsp coriander leaf, chopped

Instructions

  1. IN A BOWL ADD 1 CUP REFINED FLOUR & 1/2 TSP SALT
  2. ADD 1/4 CUP OF MILK, MIX WELL
  3. ADD WATER SLOWLY AND KNEAD INTO SMOOTH YET FIRM DOUGH
  4. ADD 1 TBSP OIL AND KNEAD THE DOUGH FOR 5 MINUTES.
  5. COVER IT AND LET IT REST FOR 20 MINUTES
  6. AFTER 20 MINUTES, DEVIDE THE DOUGH INTO SMALL PORTION
  7. DUST WITH REFIND FLOUR
  8. ROLL IT INTO THIN CIRCLE. COVER WITH THE DAMP CLOTH
  9. FOR STUFFING- ADD 1/2 TSP SALT TO THE 1 CUP CABBAGE, MIX WELL. KEEP ASIDE FOR 15 MINUTES.
  10. AFTER 15 MINUTES, SQUEEZE THE CABBAGE
  11. DISCARD THE LEFTOVER WATER
  12. IN SQUEEZED CABBAGE, ADD 1/2 CUP GRATED CARROT, AND 1 CHOPPED CAPSICUM
  13. 1 TSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE, 3/4 TSP GREEN CHILLI PASTE, 2 TBSP CHOPPED CORIANDE
  14. 1 TSP VINEGAR, 1/4 TSP SOYA SAUCE & SALT TO TASTE
  15. GIVE A GOOD MIX
  16. STUFFING IS READY
  17. PUT A TBSP OF STUFFING IN THE CENTRE. NOW LIFT THE ONE SIDE OF EDGE AND START PLEATING AND JOINING THEM TOGETHER
  18. POTLI SHAPED MOMO IS READY
  19. PREPARE ALL MOMOS LIKE THIS
  20. GREASE THE STEAMER TRAY WITH OIL 
  21. AND ARRANGE THE SHAPED MOMOS ON IT.
  22. WHEN 2 CUPS OF WATER COMES TO BOIL IN STEAMER PAN. PLACE THE TRAY OF MOMOS ON IT. COOK FOR 10 MINUTES.
  23. AFTER 10 MINUTES, OFF THE FLAME & LET THE HALF LID OPEN.
  24. NOW TRANSFER THE MOMOS INTO SERVING PLATE
  25. MOMOS ARE READY
