Ingredients to make Tawa Lauki

  • lauki 1 big
  • 3 tomatoes chopped
  • 1 green chillie
  • ginger pc 1/ 2 inch pounded
  • salt

How to make Tawa Lauki

  1. SLICE THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE LAUKI AND RUB ON THE LAUKI TO REMOVE THE BITTERNESS
  2. PEEL AND SLICE THE LAUKI IN ROUNDELS. DON'T MAKE THEM TOO THIN OR TOO THICK.
  3. PUT THE LAUKI SLICES IN A BOWL AND ADD 1 TBSP HALDI POWDR AND 1 TSP SALT. TOSS TILL EVENLY COATED.
  4. LET IT MARINATE FOR 30 MINS
  5. THIS IS HOW IT WILL LOOK
  6. TAKE A PAN AND HEAT IT.ADD EACH SLICE OF LAUKI AND TAWA FRY
  7. PUT VERY LITTLE OIL,MAY BE A DROP OR TWO ON EACH LAUKI PC
  8. TURN THEM AND COOK ON OTHER SIDE TOO TILL GOLDEN IN COLOR
  9. KEEP THE TAWA FRIED LAUKI IN A PLATE AND SET ASIDE
  10. TAKE 3 TOMATOES, CUT THEM AND GRIND THEM TO A PUREE
  11. TAKE A KADAI AND ADD LITTLE OIL
  12. ADD 1 TBSP ZEERA
  13. ADD FEW CURRY LEAVES
  14. ADD 1 GREEN CHILLIES CUT INTO 2
  15. MIX WELL
  16. ADD CHOPPED AND HAND POUNDED GINGER 1/2 INCH PIECE
  17. MIX
  18. ADD THE TOMATO PUREE
  19. MIX
  20. ADD DHANIA ZEERA PWDR 1 TBSP
  21. 1/2 TSP RED CHILLIE PWDR
  22. SALT TO TASTE
  23. MIX ALL TOGETHER
  24. ADD THE TAWA FRIED LAUKIS
  25. ADD LITTLE WATER.PUT THE WATER IN THE MIXER JAR AND USE THE LEFT OVER TOMATO PUREE TOO
  26. MIX
  27. COVER AND COOK FOR FEW MINS OR TILL THE WATER US ALMOST DRY
  28. READY
  29. ADD FRESH GREEN CORIANDER LEAVES
  30. MIX
