ABOUT Tomato sabudana upma RECIPE

Sabudana comes from tapioca and mainly available in southen areas.Not only popular in maharashtra but also a popular breakfast of south.It can be made either with just cumin peanut tadka or with masala of onion and tomato.Being a fasting recipe it is normally made of potato and peanuts.However here i made with just tomato for a quick breakfast

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 1cup : sabudana [sago or tapioca pearls]
  2. 1 tomato
  3. 1tbsp :peanuts
  4. 1tsp:cumin
  5. salt to taste
  6. green chilli - 2
  7. Oil

Instructions

  1. Soak sabudana for 6-8 hours overnight.Filter remaining water and leave at room temperature for an hour
  2. Heat oil and give cumin chilli tadka and then add peanuts and fry for 1 min
  3. Meanwhile dry roast the peanuts and ground to powder
  4. Add chopped tomato to pan and fry till it is soft.
  5. Add the dried sabudana and mix well.Cook for 5-10 min uncovered mixing at regular interval and then sprinkle the peanut powder and turn off the gas
  6. Mix well.Garnish with coriander and serve hot
