A deep fried puffy bread stuffed with filling of mildly spiced green peas.This veg delight is one of the most popular & most beloved breakfast dish of Bangal. we can take this with any aloo or dal curry.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. for the poori
  2. maida 150g.
  3. oil 1tbsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. sugar 1/4 tsp
  6. Warm water to make dough
  7. Oil to deep fry
  8. For the filling
  9. fresh green peas 150g
  10. Hing a pinch
  11. sugar 1/4 tsp
  12. Ground ginger 1tsp
  13. fennel seeds powder 2 pinch
  14. Cumin powder 1/4 tsp
  15. Coriander powder 1/4 tsp
  16. Salt
  17. Oil 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Add salt , sugar & oil to the flour & mix well with hands.
  2. then slowly add water & make a smooth dough. cover & keep for 30 min.
  3. cook peas with some water for 3 min. drain water.
  4. grind the peas without adding water.
  5. in a pan put oil.then add fennel powder ginger paste, coriander ,cumin powder & hing..fry for sometime.
  6. then add ground peas mixture with salt .fry till all moist is gone & filling becomes thick.
  7. remove & let it cool.
  8. make small balls of dough & peas mixture.
  9. flatten the dough a little with hands & put the peas mixture in the middle. roll like pooris applying some oil on the rolling pin.
  10. heat oil . deep fry kachori one by one.
  11. serve with any potato or dal curry.
