ABOUT ROASTED RED BELL PEPPER CHUTNEY RECIPE

I had some lovely red bell peppers. I made a chutney with the roasted ones. It goes well with South Indian snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Red bell pepper .... 1
  2. Garlic .................. 1 tbsp
  3. Onion .................. 2-3 tbsps.
  4. Tomato .............. 1
  5. Red chilli powder .... as per your taste
  6. Salt ............. to taste
  7. Oil ............ 4-5 tbsps.
  8. Mustard seeds .. 1.2 tso
  9. Urad dal .. 1/4 tsp
  10. Curry leaves .. few
  11. Asafoetida .. 1 pinch

Instructions

  1. Roast the bell pepper on the gas flame using tongs or knife.
  2. Let it cool and then peel off the skin.
  3. Cut into pieces.Blanch the tomato and peel the skin. Cut into pieces. 4. In a mixie put bell pepper, garlic, onion, blanched tomato pieces. Grind to paste.
  4. In a pan heat a little oil and fry the paste adding salt and red chillies as per your taste. Finally add the tempering and serve.
