ABOUT Simple Sooji Uttapam RECIPE

Extremely basic, easy to make and filling uttapam recipe for breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup curd
  2. 2 cups sooji [semolina]
  3. Water for batter consistency
  4. 2 finely chopped tomatos
  5. 1 finely chopped onion
  6. 2 teaspoon red Chilli power
  7. 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  8. Garlic salt to garnish
  9. Lemon to garnish

Instructions

  1. Get the ingredients together. Whisk together curd, sooji and water to make the batter in semi-smooth consistency.
  2. Mix the chopped onions and tomatoes.
  3. Add the Chilli powder and salt. Mix well.
  4. Pour oil on the pan.
  5. Smear it evenly for the batter to spread.
  6. Place some batter in the center.
  7. Slowly spread it out evenly.
  8. Let it cook for a minute.
  9. Then, cover it for a minute as well.
  10. Once done, you'll see the batter has solidified.
  11. Flip the batter and cook the other side for 2 mins.
  12. Transfer it to a plate. Garnish with lime juice, garlic salt or gunpowder.
