About Kalakand Recipe

Kalakand is a very popular Bengali Sweet that can be prepared with only 4 ingredients.

Kalakand

Ingredients to make Kalakand

  • 250 gm cottage cheese
  • 200 ml condensed milk
  • 5/6 whole green cardamom or 2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 10/15 pistachios for garnishing

How to make Kalakand

  1. Combine all the ingredients, cottage cheese( paneer), condensed milk and powdered cardamom in a non-stick pan.
  2. Cook over a medium flame, stirring continuously for approximately 10 to 15 minutes till the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. Then cool and transfer this mix to the prepared greased plate, paper or foil.
  3. Spread it to a half inch thickness. Level it and sprinkle the pistachios over it.
  4. Refrigerate it for at least 2 hours and cut to desired size pieces with a knife and serve it.
