Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  2. 2 pears, halved and cored
  3. 1/4 tsp crushed black pepper
  4. 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
  5. 6 tsp soft brown sugar
  6. 3 tbsp heavy cream
  7. 6 tbsp honey
  8. 1/4 cup chopped roasted walnuts
  9. Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Put butter into the baking dish and bake until its just melted for 2 to 3 minutes. Butter should coat the bottom of the pan completely, then arrange the pears, cut sides up in a single layer.
  2. Sprinkle cinnamon powder and crushed black pepper. Place a tiny cube of butter, 1 tsp of brown sugar and chopped walnuts in the centre of the pear from where the core is removed.
  3. Drizzle honey on top of the pears. Roast until its tender for about 25 minutes. Transfer the pears to serving plates.
  4. Take same baking pan which will have leftover butter from the roasting and place it on a low heat, add 2 tbsp of brown sugar when it melts, then add 3 tbsp of heavy cream and stir well. Your caramel sauce is ready.
  5. To plate, place the pears on a plate with a scoop of ice cream and drizzle caramel sauce around it.
