ABOUT Easy Cabbage Curry RECIPE

A very quick,healthy and delicious South Indian recipe. Preferable for bachelors/working women as it is a less time consuming recipe and forms a nutritious curry. It can be consumed with rice, roti and bread.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mustard seeds – 1/4 teaspoon,
  2. Black gram – 1/4 teaspoon,
  3. Cabbage (chopped ) – 1 cup,
  4. Carrot (sliced ) – 1/2 cup,
  5. Water as required
  6. Finely chopped onions – 1/2 cup,
  7. Green chilly ( slit ) – 3 or 4,
  8. Gram Flour / Besan – 1 tablespoon,
  9. Salt to taste,
  10. Turmeric powder-2 pinches,
  11. Oil – 2 tablespoon.

Instructions

  1. Boil the chopped vegetables in sufficient water.Add salt and turmeric powder to it and continue to cook until they turn tender. Turn off the flame.
  2. Drain the water if any. Allow the veggies to cool for a while.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds , black gram. Once the seeds start spluttering add chopped onions , slit green chilly. Saute until translucent.
  4. In the meanwhile , carefully apply gram flour over the boiled veggies.
  5. Transfer the gram flour applied veggies to the seasoned mix. Add salt to it. Saute for 5 minutes over a low flame.
  6. Turn off the flame when the curry is cooked well. Transfer the curry into a serving plate.
  7. Serve with hot steamed rice / roti / bread.
