Ingredients to make Homemade Caramel popcorn (healthy recipe)

  • 5 Cups of Popped Popcorn
  • 1/2 Cup butter (Sweet Cream Salted)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • pinch baking soda
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

How to make Homemade Caramel popcorn (healthy recipe)

  1. Add 1/2 cup butter in saucepan over medium heat.
  2. add 1/2 cup brown sugar and stir until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Stirring continuously, bring the butter and sugar mixture up to a boil. When it reaches a boil allow it to cook for 5 minutes without stirring.
  4. add vanilla assassin and mix well
  5. add I tablespoon honey
  6. add pinch salt mix well
  7. At the 5 minute mark, add the 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
  8. The bubbling effect of the baking soda will aerate the caramel and make it lighter and smoother and therefore easier to coat the all popcorns very well
  9. It is okay if the popcorn isn't completely coated.
  10. Let the popcorn cool completely on the baking sheets. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.

My Tip:

Slowly pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn while stirring the popcorn (it helps if you have a partner for this step — one person pouring while the other stirs the popcorn). Continue stirring the sauce into the popcorn until all of the kernels are coated.
