ABOUT Whole Wheat Nolen Gurer Malpua RECIPE

Sweets appeal to all, even the ones who are not supposed to enjoy them. Malpua is a traditional sweet made with all purpose flour,sugar and loads of ghee. Try this amazingly healthy way of cutting unwanted gluten and adding fibre and sweetness to your lives! Further nolen gur/Date palm jaggery adds an all new flavour to this tempting Indian sweet

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 gm whole wheat flour
  2. 100 gm nolen gur/date palm jaggery
  3. 1 ts ghee for cooking
  4. 1/4 cup water
  5. 4 green cardamom pods

Instructions

  1. Melt the jaggery using the water in a deep non stick cooking pot on Low heat
  2. Transfer the melted jaggery syrup into a bowl and let cool
  3. Ground the cardamom into a fine powder
  4. add the flour and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup and mix until no lumps are left
  5. Heat ghee in a non stick pan and add a ladleful of batter in center and spread gently
  6. cook on both sides till crisp. don’t overcook orelse the Malpua may turn hard
  7. serve immediately
