Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 3/4 cup chopped methi leaves
  3. 1/4 cup chopped green garlic
  4. 1 tbsp ghee
  5. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  7. salt, to taste
  8. water, as required


  1. Rinse the rice and keep aside.
  2. Wash the methi leaves and green garlic nicely in running water.
  3. In a pressure cooker, warm up the ghee.
  4. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  5. Add methi leaves and green garlic and sauté well.
  6. Add salt and turmeric and sauté for 1-2 mins to remove the raw smell.
  7. Add the rice and sauté for a min.
  8. Add desired amount of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  9. Let the steam go off and then open the cooker.
  10. Serve hot with your favourite veggies.
