ABOUT Amla Gur Chutney – No Sugar Chutney RECIPE

Amla Gur Chutney is really nutritious and tasty too. Amla is also known as Gooseberry. Amla is a potent source of Vitamin C and also contains iron and calcium. Because it is so versatile, it has become a favorite among the health conscious people. Whereas Gur is also known as Jaggery, it is loaded with antioxidants and minerals such as zinc and selenium, which in turn help prevent free-radical damage and also boost resistance against infections. Gur also helps increase the total count of hemoglobin in the blood.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Amla – 250 gms
  2. Grated Gur – 250 gms
  3. Spices : Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp
  4. Roasted cumin seeds powder – 1/2 tsp
  5. Black salt – 1/4 tsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Whole Garam Masalas *: Black pepper – 3 Cinnamon stick – 1 inch Cloves – 2 Black cardamom- 1


  1. Add whole garam masala* in one cup of water and add amla. Boil for 10 minutes till they get soft and tender.
  2. Now strain the amlas and remove the seeds from Amla. Make a fine paste in a grinder. Heat a nonstick pan add Amla paste and grated gur. Add all other spices, salt and mix well.
  3. Let the mixture cook on low flame. Keep stirring at regular intervals and cook until it gets thick in consistency. Yummy healthy chutney is ready.
