Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup dry yellow peas (matar)
  2. 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  3. 1 tablespoon cumin and coriander seeds
  4. 2 tablespoons ginger garlic paste
  5. Sev/ bhujiya as required
  6. 2 tablespoons tamarind pulp
  7. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  8. 1 tsp black salt
  9. Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  10. Cucumber finely, chopped
  11. Tomato and onion, chopped
  12. Green chilly, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak matar over night.
  2. Put the matar in a pressure cooker, you can add salt, turmeric powder,chopped onion ,tomato, ginger/ garlic paste now (else after the matar has done, u can cook like a gravy curry ).Cook on medium high heat.
  3. Matar should be soft and tender. Add all the spices to your taste. Mix the spices well to the matar gravy
  4. Add a little water if they look too dry, the gravy should be thick.
  5. garnish with some chopped onion, tomato, cucumber, corriader leaves, green chilies and 1tsp chat masala, sev,t drop of tamarind pulp and lemon on the top of the gravy and serve hot

Very nice recipe. I did all things boiled together version. Instead of chat masala, I added bhaja masala.
