ABOUT VEGETABLE UPMA RECIPE

A traditional South Indian breakfast.It is fulfilling and made healthier with addition of vegetables.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Semolina - 2 cups
  2. Chopped onions -2
  3. Chopped tomato -1
  4. Green peas -1/4 cup
  5. Chopped carrot - 1 tbsp
  6. Chopped green chillies -3
  7. Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  8. Chopped cauliflower - 1 tbsp
  9. Split black gram -1 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  11. Bengal gram - 1 tsp
  12. Oil - 3 tsp
  13. Salt - to taste
  14. Water - as required
  15. Coriander leaves - fistful
  16. Chopped Cashews -3

Instructions

  1. Dry roast semolina for three to four minutes stirring continuously.Keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in wok.Add mustard seeds,black split gram,bengal gram.
  3. Add chopped onions,green chillies,Carrot,cauliflower ,peas,grated ginger,cashews,tomato to the wok.
  4. Once the veggies get cooked add water.
  5. When water starts boiling add salt and roasted semolina.Keep stirring so that no lumps form.
  6. Vegetable Upma is ready .
  7. You can serve upma with coconut chutney,sambar or even pickles.
