Ingredients to make Sandesh

  • 2 cups of chenna (cottage cheess)
  • 5-6 tsp sugar
  • A small pinch of cardamom powder
  • A few strands of saffron
  • Milk powder (optional)
  • cashew nuts and pista (optional)

How to make Sandesh

  1. First you have to make the chenna and knead it to a smooth consistency.
  2. Add the sugar, milk powder and cardamom powder to it and make a soft dough.
  3. Transfer to a pan and cook on low heat to remove the rawness of the chenna.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and add the saffron, when the mixture is warm, shape into small balls and flatten lightly.
  5. Garnish it with some pista and cashew nuts on top of it.
