ABOUT Baked egg burger RECIPE

A very delicious and easy to make burger. If you don't like egg just omit it. Your burger will be superbly delicious without eggs too. Patties are made of leftover cooked rice and soya granules, which is rich source of protein, iron, calcium, vitamins and Omega-3 fatty acids. Eggs and soy protein made this burger perfect for kiddos.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Burger buns - 5
  2. Potato - 5 large, boiled
  3. Onion - 1 sliced
  4. Grated ginger - 1 teaspoon
  5. Garlic - 2-3 cloves, minced or paste
  6. Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  7. Chaat masala powder - 1 teaspoon
  8. Green chillies - 2-3, chopped
  9. Oil - 2 tablespoon
  10. Cooked rice - 1/2 cup, mashed
  11. Breadcrumbs - as required
  12. Cilantro or coriander leaves - 2 tablespoon, chopped
  13. Chilli flakes or red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
  14. Salt to taste
  15. For batter -
  16. Garam masala powder - 1/4 teaspoon, optional
  17. Refined flour - 2 tablespoon
  18. Cornflour - 1 tablespoon
  19. Salt and pepper to taste
  20. For eggs -
  21. Eggs - 5
  22. Salt to taste
  23. Oregano as require
  24. Chilli flakes to sprinkle
  25. Oil for frying
  26. Funfoods mayonnaise as require
  27. Funfoods pizza topping as require
  28. Cheese slice - 5
  29. Any chutney or tomato sauce as require

Instructions

  1. Take a muffins tray. Grease it generously with oil or butter. Or line with cupcake liners.
  2. Crack the eggs in the greased moulds. Sprinkle little salt, chilli flakes and oregano. Bake till done. Or microwave in silicone moulds.
  3. When the eggs set keep aside to cool down.
  4. Soak soya granules in hot water for 15 minutes. Or microwave on high power for 1 minute.
  5. Peel the boiled potatoes. Mash or grate and keep aside.
  6. Squeeze the water from soya granules.
  7. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a pan. Add sliced onion. Fry till the onions become translucent.
  8. Add ginger, garlic and green chilli. Saute till the onion becomes brown.
  9. Add soya granules and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Add mashed cooked rice and mashed potatoes.
  11. Add salt, cumin powder, garam masala powder, chilli flakes, or chilli powder and chaat masala powder. You can use 1-2 teaspoon lemon juice if you don't have chaat masala powder.
  12. Add chopped cilantro or coriander leaves and mix well.
  13. Remove from fire and let the mixture cool down.
  14. In a bowl mix 2 tablespoon refined এ, 1 teaspoon cornflour, salt and pepper.
  15. Make a semi thick batter with the help of water. Make a lump free batter.
  16. Spread breadcrumb on a plate.
  17. When the potato mixture cool down, make patties out of it. You can add 1 - 2 tablespoon breadcrumb if require to hold the shape.
  18. Dip the patties into the flour batter and roll on the breadcrumb. Coat breadcrumb evenly on the patties.
  19. Make all the patties this way and arrange on a plate.
  20. Heat sufficient oil in a pan.
  21. Slide the patties into the hot oil gently. You can shallow fry the patties if you like.
  22. Fry till the patties become brown, flip fry the other side. Remove the patties on a paper towel.
  23. Cut the burger bun half diagonally. Toast in a pan with butter. On inner side spread mayonnaise and and any chutney or tomato sauce.
  24. On lower part of the bun spread pizza sauce, place a cleaned lettuce leave. I didn't have so I had to skipped.
  25. Place a pattie over it. Place a cheese slice over the pattie.
  26. Then place onion and tomato slices. You can use cucumber slice if you like.
  27. Place baked egg on the top. Cover with the top part of the bun. Insert a toothpick in the middle.
  28. Baked egg burger is ready. Serve immediately or pack it for tiffin.
