It is a Rajeshthani recipe. People mostly eat in winter season. It is very healthy & delicious recipe. Children also like to eat it in breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Ingredients:-
  2. Wheat 100 gms
  3. Moong mogar dal 50 gms
  4. Chopped Beans 50 gms
  5. chopped carrot 2
  6. Black pepper 1/2 tea spoon
  7. salt as per taste
  8. Curry leaves 7-8
  9. Chopped Green Chillies 2
  10. Crushed ginger 2 small pieces
  11. Cloves 2
  12. Ghee 1 & 1/2 tea spoon
  13. Black mustard seeds 1/2 tea spoon
  14. Turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon
  15. water 3 bowls
  16. For Decorating:-
  17. some coriander leaves
  18. Any type of chatni (optional)
  19. ghee (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak the wheat in a bowl for atleast 8-12 hours.
  2. Strain water with the help of a Chalni
  3. After 2-3 minutes, put it into mixer jar and grind it at opposite side until coarsely grinded.
  4. Take ghee in a cooker and put it on gas stove and heat it.
  5. Once ghee is heated, add mustard seeds, Curry leaves, green chillies, ginger and cloves
  6. Add beans, carrot.
  7. Then add wheat and moong dal and stir it well
  8. After some time, add turmeric powder, black pepper, and salt.
  9. Now, add water from the bowls and stir it well
  10. Close the cooker and take one whistle.
  11. After one whistle, put it on low flames for 1-2 mins.
  12. Switch off the gas stove.
  13. Once the pressure of cooker is released, serve and decorate it with coriander leaves and ghee, chatni(optional)
  14. At the end, you can do dressing with tadka. For tadka, put 1/2 tea spoon ghee, and add some mustard seeds, 2-3 Curry leaves and heat it for 1 min then spread it on Kheechda.
  15. Healthy & yummy Kheechda is ready.
