ABOUT Tofu and Vegetables Cutlet RECIPE

Here is an amazing Indian style tofu and vegetable cutlets recipe. These cutlets are very healthy and delicious. Tofu is a good source of protein and contains all eight essential amino acids. It is also an excellent source of iron and calcium, minerals and vitamin B1.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tofu (extra firm)- 100 gm
  2. Onion, finely chopped- ¼ cup
  3. Capsicum, finely chopped- ½ cup
  4. Green peas, boiled- ½ cup
  5. Carrot, boiled- ½ cup
  6. Sweet corn kernels, boiled- ½ cup
  7. Fresh coriander, finely chopped- 2 tbsp
  8. Potato, boiled- 1 large
  9. Ginger~garlic paste- 2 tsp
  10. Fresh bread crumbs - from 2 brown bread slices
  11. Chili powder- 1 tsp
  12. Garam masala- 1 tsp
  13. Chat Masala- 1 tsp
  14. Salt- to taste
  15. Oil for shallow frying- as required

Instructions

  1. Chop or crumble boiled veggies (carrot, peas. corn) in food processor without water. (If you don't have food-processor, you can chop finely or grate.)
  2. Grind bread slices to make crumbs. (You can use roasted crushed roll oats to make healthier instead of bread crumbs.)
  3. Peel the potato and grate it.
  4. Combine all veggies, potato, bread crumbs, above mentioned all spices and salt in a bowl.
  5. Wash the whole bar of tofu under cold running water and squeeze out the excess water. Crumble and add to the vegetables.
  6. Mix well and make a lemon sign ball. and pat flat & make a patty. Shape it with your palms in the desired shape. Roll on breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat a tawa or skillet with little oil and shallow fry on med heat till golden brown from both sides.
  8. Serve hot with tomato ketchup or chutney.
