ABOUT Methi paneer bhurji RECIPE

This healthy and delicious recipe made with methi and paneer is easy to cook. It can be served as a side dish with chapati or any kind of bread. (Sorry for the bad pictures as I was in hurry so I couldn't take the images properly)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 bunch (1/2 kg) fenugreek leaves
  2. 150 gm paneer
  3. 1 small onion chopped
  4. 1 medium tomato chopped
  5. 3-4 green chillies slit lengthwise or fine chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  7. 1/4 tsp hing (asafoetida)
  8. 2 dry red chilli
  9. 1/2 tsp grated/fine Chopped ginger
  10. 1/2 tsp chopped garlic (optional)
  11. 2 tbsp cooking oil
  12. Salt as required.

Instructions

  1. Clean and chop the methi leaves. Soak them for few minutes and then wash it under running water. Drain out the excess water.
  2. Heat the oil in a heavy bottom pan. Add cumin seeds, dry red chilli and Hing to the pan.
  3. Add chopped ginger and chopped garlic and saute it.
  4. Now add green chillies, chopped onion and cook for few minutes till the onion turn slight golden.
  5. Add methi leaves to the pan. Mix everything together and let it cook for few minutes.
  6. Meanwhile cut the paneer into 1 inches cubes and keep aside.
  7. After few minutes of cooking the methi will reduce to half in amount. At this stage add chopped tomatoes to the middle of the pan. Add salt and cover the tomatoes with methi and let it cook for few minutes more.
  8. When the the methi gets completely dry. Add paneer cubes and cook for 2 minutes and turn off the flames.
  9. Serve the methi bhurji with hot phulkas and enjoy
