The very traditional Gujrati breakfast which is so easy to make and very healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Semolina [suji] -200 gm
  2. buttermilk-1/2 cup
  3. oil-1tsp
  4. luke warm water - as required for the batter
  5. salt to taste
  6. green coriander chutney-3tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. eno salt-1/2 tsp
  9. For tempering : Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  10. Oil - 3 tsp
  11. curry leaves-5 to 6
  12. green chilly-4
  13. salt-1/4 tsp
  14. Sesame seeds -1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Mix suji and buttermilk well,add little lukewarm water if batter becomes too thick. And keep it for rest atleast 20 minutes.
  2. Now add salt to batter and divide it two portions.
  3. add green coriander chutney to first portion to form green color And add haldi [turmeric powder] to second portion.
  4. now lastly add 1/2tsp oil,1/4tsp eno salt to both portions.
  5. Grease the tray and firstly pour green batter then yellow.finally steam it..for first 5 minutes on high flame and then rest 20 minutes on low flame....take out and keep aside.
  6. for tempering. add oil to pan followed by mustard seeds, sesame seeds ,curry leaves,lil salt,green chillies . Pour on dhokla and cut them in desired shapes.
