ABOUT Lemongrass Ginger Tea RECIPE

Lemongrass and ginger have refreshing aroma which makes this tea refreshing and aromatic. Lemongrass helps in cold, cough treats insomnia. Ginger again is very good for cough, cold and helps in digestion, prevents nausea. It a quick, healthy and aromatic beverage which is very famous in every household. In Maharashtra this tea is consumed on regular basis.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Lemongrass stock – 2-3 (tie into a small bundle.)
  2. Coarsely ground fresh ginger or thinly sliced – ½ inch or 1 1/2 tbsp
  3. sugar -1 ½ tbsp (adjust as per your preference)
  4. Black tea powder – 2 tsp
  5. Milk – ½ - ¾ cup
  6. water 2 cups

Instructions

  1. Wash lemon grass and ginger thoroughly. Tie it into a small bundle.
  2. Coarsely ground or thinly slice ginger root.
  3. In a sauce pan or kettle heat water. Add lemongrass and ginger. Boil it on medium low flame for 8-10 minutes until mixture becomes ½ of the quantity.
  4. Add tea powder and sugar Simmer for 5 -7 minutes on low medium flame.
  5. Add milk. Strain and serve hot.
