Ingredients to make Gud papdi

  • 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 cup shredded jaggery
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • Pinch nutmeg powder
  • 5-6 sliced almonds

How to make Gud papdi

  1. First prepare the plate to set the gud papdi. Grease the plate well using ghee and keep aside.
  2. Take the ghee in a pan. Turn the heat on low-medium.
  3. Once ghee is melted and gets slightly hot, add wheat flour and mix it well.
  4. Roast it with stirring constantly for 10-15 minutes. Or till the flour gets some color and you will get toasted aroma of the flour.
  5. Add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix it well.
  6. Turn off the flame. Then add jaggery.
  7. It will melt right away. Quickly mix it.
  8. Immediately pour into the prepared plate, even out the surface using back of the spatula or back of the steel glass or katori. And sprinkle chopped almonds and press it with spatula so that it will set on gud papdi.
  9. Cut into desired shape and keep it aside for 30 min.
  10. After 30 min. It will be ready to serve.

My Tip:

You can also add coconut powder.
