Ingredients to make Pepper chicken

  • To marinate
  • chicken - 1 kg
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Tumeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • For tempering
  • Bayleaf - 1
  • cinnamon - 1 small piece
  • cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • fennel - 1/2 tsp
  • Others
  • onion - 4 - sliced
  • Green chilli - 2
  • curry leaves - few
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper powder - 3 tsp
  • coriander leaves to garnish

How to make Pepper chicken

  1. Marinate the chicken with the tumeric, salt and lime juice for 1/2 an hour
  2. Take a kadai, add oil. Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cumin and fennel seeds. When they crackle, add onions, curry leaves and green chilli. Saute till the onion is transparent. Now add the ginger garlic paste. Saute till the raw smell goes.
  3. Now add the chicken and all the spice powders. Saute till the masala are well coated. Now add 1/2 cup water and bring it to boil.
  4. Then, keep the stove in sim till the gravy thickens. Switch off the stove. Now garnish with coriander leaves.

My Tip:

Pepper should be added according to one's taste.
