ABOUT Kosha Mangsho RECIPE

A slow-cooked mutton stew which is perfect to be served with some steamed hot rice on the side.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Mutton 500 gms
  2. 1 cup raw onion paste
  3. 1 bay leaf
  4. 2 cloves
  5. 2 cardamom
  6. 1 stick cinamon
  7. 1/2 cup tomato chopped
  8. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  10. 1 tbsp curd
  11. 1 tsp garam masala
  12. 2 tsp coriander powder
  13. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a handi, heat mustard oil.
  2. Add whole spices.
  3. Add onion paste. Saute well.
  4. Add mutton pieces. Mix well.
  5. Add dry powdered spices and salt. Mix well. Add tomato. Mix well.
  6. Cook till soft. Add curd, mix and then cover.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 40 min.
  8. Serve hot.
